So you have been following the same monotonous skincare regimen for years, and you have reached your peak. You are not seeing any new results, you skin isn’t glowing like it used to or you want to look brighter from day to day. I am not saying I have perfect skin by any means, but I have tried a lot of things so I can tell you what has worked for me. Here are some tried and true skincare tips that may do the trick for you!
Exercise More Frequently
Exercise increases blood flow to your whole body. A flush of blood to your face can change your appearance and induce a natural glow when done regularly. Try exercising every morning or every other morning for at least 30 minutes, and you will start to see a change in your skin. Blood flow to the skin will nourish skin cells and keep them vital. Skin cells produce collagen and elastin that contribute to a tight, youthful appearance.
Use A Sheet Mask
Another popular Korean beauty trend is the sheet mask. I have incorporated these into my beauty routine and try to use them twice a week. There are many different kinds that can cater to you skincare desires like anti-aging, brightening, toning, anti-breakout, reduce dark circles and hyperpigmentation. Basically, it is a mask soaked in serum that you lay on your freshly washed face for about 15-20 minutes. Your skin will absorb the serum and when you wake up in the morning, your skin is soft, supple, and refreshed.
Be sure to keep anything clean that comes in contact with your face if you are experience odd breakouts. Disinfect your cell phone, including the case. Wash your pillowcases, clean your makeup brushes! This is one that a lot of people forget, your makeup brushes and tools can collect bacteria. Also, be sure to dispose of your makeup in due time, don’t use products for over a year. I will do a post on when to dispose of beauty products depending on the kind, but most products are not good over a year.
Sleep, Water, Sunscreen
SWS – This is basic skincare suggestion for anti-aging, supple, smooth skin. Make sure you are sleeping at least 8 hours every night. Sleeping too little can contribute to formation of dark circles, wrinkles, and under-eye bags. Water, be sure to drink AT LEAST 8 glasses of water a day, but more is great. Sunscreen, contrary to popular belief, everyone should be wearing sunscreen everyday. The sun is always out even when you don’t see it, so be sure to protect yourself from harmful UVA/UVB rays.
